The Harlequin Watford welcomes back enterprising students
By Clare Bourke on January 13th 2012
Following the huge success of previous years The Harlequin shopping centre in Watford is delighted to once again play host to the annual Young Enterprise Trade Fair on Saturday 21st January from 9am to 6pm.
Back by popular demand, the fair will be welcoming 22 enterprising student businesses to compete for sales within the centre.
Selling everything from E books to personalised clothing and solar powered chargers, the innovative students will be showcasing their unique ideas to all.
The students will be from different secondary schools all across Watford including Watford Grammar School for Boys, Watford Grammar School for Girls, Breakspear School and Aldenham School. The stalls will be set up on the Lower Mall outside of M&S and HMV.
The student businesses are set up through Young Enterprise, the UK’s leading business and enterprise education charity. The charity runs various programmes, during which students learn about business first-hand by running a real company themselves.
They elect a board of directors, raise share capital, and market and finance a product or service of their own choice. At the end of the year they liquidate the company and present a report and accounts.
Assistant Marketing Manager and Young Enterprise team Business Advisor Pippa Stennnett comments, 'It is an absolute pleasure to welcome back local students from Watford for the Young Enterprise Trade Fair. The event has always proved a huge success with both our shoppers and the students and we are hugely excited to see all of their hard work first hand!'
